Researches - Firewall

 

At the interface between the Internet and local networks, companies, organisations and government offices require an efficient and secure firewall solution.

Even when two differently classified networks are connected to each other, the data traffic at the interface must be precisely controlled: Only approved data and documents may be transferred from the network with the higher classification to the less secure area while, on the other hand, confidential information must be absolutely protected from being passed on.

For these reasons, ProtectStar™ R&Dhas developed various concepts for possible firewall systems with the highest requirements.
One development area is investigating a double firewall system: an application level gateway combined with a package filter.

Further research and development areas of ProtectStar™ R&D are the analysis of a multi-level firewall system and a possible future firewall solution that recognises and stores attacks, and can send them back to the sender.
